The Interact Club at Willetton Senior High School has been running since 2012, and was officially chartered in July 2015, coming under the umbrella of Rotary International. We are a community based club, strongly supported by the Rotary Club of Willetton.
The club supports two service projects a year, one that aids a local cause and one that promotes international understanding and goodwill. To date, Interactors have raised over $40,000 to support various projects including the Leukaemia Foundation, Medecins Sans Frontieres, ACT, Mercy Ships, Water for Africa and Compassion Australia, to name a few.
In addition, members are involved in community service projects such as volunteering at the annual Rotary community fair, or assisting SERCUL with tree planting.
Through projects, Interactors can develop a network of friendships with local and overseas Rotary, Rotaract and Interact clubs. As part of their Interact journey, Interactors develop leadership skills, communication skills and learn the value of serving the greater community through hard work.
As an added bonus, Interactors are given opportunities to participate in RYPEN and other youth based Rotary programs. Interactors can also go on to become Youth Exchange students or Ambassadorial Scholars.
Active participation in Interact is recognised by the Duke of Edinburgh program.
Do you find yourself saying I want to make a difference or I want to help others? If so, then this is the club for you!
Anyone between the ages of 12 to 18 years and wanting to play a part in making our world a better place is welcomed.
We meet each Thursday during recess in room E05.
