Humanities and Social Sciences

The study of Humanities and Social Sciences is based on a multiple social sciences disciplinary approach to learning. The study is progressive, innovative and relevant with a focus on delivering a balanced Western Australian curriculum that provides an in-depth study examining the past, engaging in the present and planning for the future.

The Humanities and Social Sciences Learning Area is committed to the development of high quality educational experiences that promotes excellence and equity in education for all students. A new rigorous, relevant and engaging Modified Learning Program will take into account the range of our students’ current levels of literacy, learning, strengths, goals and interests and make adjustments where necessary to cater for individual student needs.

We provide a balanced curriculum in a technologically stimulating environment, which connects learning in the middle childhood phase of development to that of the senior secondary years of schooling. This sequencing is the ideal framework to enable our students to consistently achieve outstanding results in their final year of study and in their examinations in the disciplines offered by this learning area.
